Osiedle Osobie – where the road ends and the forest begins
The cabin is located at the end of a private road with a barrier in Ochotnica Dolna.
Behind the house you step straight into forest and meadows, with no passing traffic or city noise. It is a perfect place for slowing down, stargazing and early morning walks in slippers through the dew.
Day trip ideas
Within a short drive you have mountains, a lake, castles and Pieniny. Choose your plan for today – just pack your backpack.
A day in Gorce – tower and trail
Perfect when you want mountains but without crowds. From the cabin you head straight to Gorce – with views of the Tatras and Pieniny.
Morning
Drive to your chosen trail (Gorc, Lubań or nearby meadows). You can choose a shorter or longer variant – trails are well marked and accessible for different levels. Climb the viewing tower with mountain panoramas.
During the day
- Picnic on one of the meadows – blanket, sandwiches, thermos and views.
- Peaceful descent back to the car.
- Optional: short walk around or return to the cabin for a break.
Evening
Return to the cabin, lights on inside, hot jacuzzi on the terrace and stars above the forest.
Lake Czorsztyn and two castles
A good day when you want to combine sightseeing, water and ice cream with children.
Morning
Drive to Lake Czorsztyn, short walk by the dam. Visit one of the castles – Niedzica or Czorsztyn.
During the day
- Boat cruise, gondola or water bike.
- Lunch or ice cream at one of the restaurants by the harbor.
- You can make a loop by car: castle → harbor → other side of the lake.
Evening
Short walk by the water at sunset, then return to the cabin in the forest.
Dunajec – rafting and bikes
A regional classic – you combine water, mountains and light activity.
Morning
Drive to Szczawnica or Krościenko. Dunajec River trip – you can choose a raft with rafters, pontoon or kayak.
During the day
- Velo Dunajec bike route along the river – safe and calm, good for children too.
- Stop for coffee or lunch with a view of Three Crowns.
- Optional: short walk around or return to the cabin for a break.
Evening
Short stroll through the town. Return to the cabin, shower, warm blanket and a movie on the couch.
Skiing, snow and hot jacuzzi
When snow falls, the area becomes like a postcard – and the slopes are really close.
Morning
Drive to Kluszkowce, Białka or another nearby ski resort. Choose a resort depending on level – family slopes or more challenging trails. First runs, warm-up and hot tea at the lodge.
During the day
- Skiing / snowboarding or sledding with children.
- Short walk around if not everyone wants to spend the whole day on the slopes.
- Return to the resort for a break or continue skiing.
Evening
Return to the heated cabin, dry ski storage for equipment. Hot jacuzzi on the terrace and snow all around – the best end to the day.
Ochotnica and the surrounding area (Gorce, Pieniny, Lake Czorsztyn) is an excellent base for mountain trips, Dunajec River rafting, cycling on Velo Dunajec and winter ski trips.
Ochotnica and the area for longer stays
If you stay for several days, there are still plenty of things to discover in the area – from peaceful walks to winter attractions with adrenaline.
Winter and adrenaline
- Winter sleigh rides – horse-drawn sleigh rides, often with torches and a bonfire at the end. Perfect for an evening after skiing.
- Quads and buggies – rental companies operate in the area, and mountain roads and forest tracks make an impression. A good option for a bit of off-roading (with respect for nature and pedestrians).
Views and walks
- Gorce viewing towers – Gorc, Lubań, Magurki or Koziarz with panoramas of the Tatras, Pieniny and Dunajec Valley.
- Forest educational trails – comfortable routes with boards about nature and regional history, good for a walk with children.
- Open-air museums and wooden architecture – old farmsteads, chapels and regional atmospheres that work great in photos.
Water and relaxation
- Thermal baths and pools – warm water, slides for children and a relaxation zone for adults when the weather doesn't cooperate.
- Bikes and gravel – side roads and gravel tracks where you can handle both a family trip and a solid workout.
